I had a unique experience and was invited to a backyard party where the band Whorled played along with O’jizo a Celtic Band from Japan that is currently touring multiple festivals in North America. The lead guitarist from Whorled was also our host. The evening was delightful and I was able to capture some photos during the golden hour.

Instruments make a fine photo subject in my opinion

Whorled kicked off the evening with a set and for the last number was accompanied by the flautist from O’Jizo. Whorled earned awards for their song “Seven”.

The O’jizo flautist joined Whorled for a song

O’Jizo took the stage and played some original numbers of which one was ‘Journey to Big Country’

This was a very nice community event where friends and neighbors were able to gather to share food while enjoying the music and a beautiful evening. It was a unique blending of cultures and felt very welcoming with a real sense of appreciation for the food, performances, and sharing of experiences.

The final photos are getting more grainy as we quickly lost light near the end.

The final few songs had participants from workshops and both bands combined for a final number. Also, Frankie the dog loves concerts.

Frankie checks in with the sound engineer, looks for snacks, and checks out the audience

Our hosts had such a lovely garden that I had to snap a few photos
