Pico’s Pictures: Mackinac Island and Northern Michigan
Hello friends! I wanted to share some pictures that I brought back from vacation. There was a trip planned to visit Mackinac Island and Marquette, Michigan. The weather was fantastic and I feel like I captured some good photos.
I’m going to lead off with my favorite photo. This was taken early in the morning as the sun was rising. I was out for a bike ride around the island and found myself in a little tree tunnel with the morning light shining in. I took a few photos that I thought were good, until this couple came through and added some dynamic movement. The moving silhouette worked so well.
If you have never been to Mackinac Island, then you should be made aware that there are no cars allowed on the island so folks either cycle or take a horse drawn carriage. The island is also famous for the Mackinac Island Fudge. If you speak to certain folks they say the island smells like…
To get to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (“da U P, eh”) by car, one must cross the Mackinac Bridge. It is really quite a sight to behold. There are narrow lanes and metal gratings that you can see through that pull your vehicle a little bit side to side making the experience very unnerving.
Thank you for checking out this post! I hope you enjoyed the pictures. You can find more in this Google Photo Album.
