Pico’s Pictures: Garden Flowers
Hello, friends! I wanted to share with you some pictures I took in the garden this afternoon. As part of my journey of learning photography I am trying to find opportunities to practice. I was resting outside and listening to an audio book and the colors from the flowers that are inter-planted in the vegetable garden were overwhelming. When I got to shooting, I found that most of the plants were buzzing with big fat bumblebees.
These are the moments that make me really happy. I want to share my two favorite pictures from the shoot. The first is a ‘Rose of Sharon’ and I like the high contrast and offset flowers. The second is a cucumber! The sharp little spines and the memory of all the pickles we have in store for the season!
Thank you for taking the time to view the photos. The thing that I noticed this shoot is that I should increase the f-stop as the field of view is too narrow when getting so close to the subject. The f-stop choice for shooting portraits is not the same as these ‘macro’ shots. If you’d like here is the full album.
